We will examine such culture-icons as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Van Mieu (1000 year old temple of literature-the first university in Viet Nam). Head to War Museum. We'll then visit the Ha Noi Old Quarter. Free shopping. Enjoy water puppets show. |

Early morning departure
(7.00 am) for Ha Long Bay. On the way we'll stop for a while in Hai
Duong Province. On arriving in Ha Long Bay we take a 4 hour boat trip
(having lunch on boat) to investigate this world heritage listed region
( visit Wooden Stakes and the Heaven Palace cave). Return to Ha Noi and
O/N in Ha Noi. 12h50: Fly from Ha Noi to Hue (650 km). 13h50: Arrive Hue. Check in hotel. In the evening take a boat cruise on the perfume River and listening to traditional Vietnamese music. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast we'll visit the Old Citadel (heavily damaged during the intense fighting of the 1968 Tet offensive). Khai Dinh and Tu Duc's tombs, Thien Mu padgoda, free shopping at Dong Ba Market. Dinner and O/N in Hue.
07h00: Take the bus from Hue over the historically and visually spectacular Hai Van pass to Da Nang (where American troops made their first landing), on the way visiting Lang Co beach, Marble Mountain, Cham Museum, My Son Honeyland. Lunch by yourself on the way. Check in hotel for the night in Hoi An (an old seaport town little changed in 300 years that displays an amazing range of Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and European architecture).
Take a cyclo and visit Sa Huynh museum (~2000 years before present pre-metal culture), Phuoc Kien Pagoda, Tan Ky Ancient house and other ancient architecture from Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese traditions. After lunch explore this amazing town on your own time and manner. Transfer to Da Nang airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh. O/N in Ho Chi Minh.
Transfer to Cu Chi tunnels built during the French and American Wars in Vietnam. These tunnels run for over 75 miles and included sleeping quarters, hospitals, weapons dumps and so forth. They are now one of the most important and well-visited war relics in the country today (probably the best example of the material culture of war tourism anywhere in the world), back to Ho Chi Minh. Visit Reunification Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, Emperor Jade Pagoda, City Hall, War Crimes Museum, China Town, Binh Tay and Ben Thanh Markets, Giac Lam Pagoda, Thien Hau Temple. O/N in Ho Chi Minh.
Leave for Cai Be in the early morning by bus. Take a boat to visit Cai Be floating market where locals are buying, selling and trading all manner of things from their boats. Walk around the area and look at traditional rice paper making and even rice crispies manufacture!.After lunch explore village life in the delta. In the afternoon stop by the Vinh Long market and Bonsai gardens on the way back to Saigon.
ABF, free till transfer to airport for flight to Siem Reap. Visit the standard of living of fishing village at Tonle Sap lack. Shopping and O/N in hotel.
ABF, visit South Gate of Angkor Thom with Bayon, Bapuon, Phimean Akas…temple. Afternoon visit Angkor Wat Temple and have sunset at Bakheng hill. Dinner with traditional show (as your request)
ABF, free till transfer to airport for departure. End of service.
